Account or per-project subscription

Account or Per-Project Subscription
Two ways to pay for your resources: a plan at the account level that covers all your projects, or a plan dedicated to a specific project. Both coexist freely.
Account plan (default)
Your personal subscription (plans and pricing) defines a global allowance: number of services, CPU, memory, storage. All projects in account mode draw from this shared allowance.
This is the default mode, suited to the vast majority of use cases: a single subscription, a single invoice, all your projects.
Project-dedicated plan
When creating a project (or from its settings), you can attach its own subscription:
- its resources are billed against its own plan, not the account's allowance;
- it has its own billing, cancellable independently of the rest;
- your other projects are not affected by its consumption.
When to dedicate a plan to a project
| Situation | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Client project | The project's invoice is isolated and easy to rebill |
| Resource-hungry application | It doesn't cannibalize the allowance of your other projects |
| Team project | The project's budget is independent of the owner's account |
| Side project with uncertain lifespan | Cancels on its own, without touching your main plan |
Cancellation
- Cancelling a project's plan: takes effect at the end of the paid period; the project then reverts to account mode (within the limits of your allowance's remaining resources).
- Cancelling the account plan: does not affect projects that have their own plan.
Invited members of a shared project never pay anything: billing falls to the owner or to the project's dedicated plan.
