# Shared Projects

A project isn't limited to its creator: invite teammates, assign them a role, and work on the same canvas, with deployments, logs, and configuration.

## Invite a member

1. Open the project, then the **Members** tab.
2. Invite the person and choose their role: **admin**, **developer**, or **viewer** (details in [Roles and permissions](/docs/roles-permissions)).
3. The project appears in their project list as soon as the invitation is accepted.

The project creator is its **owner**. This role can't be transferred from the Members tab.

## What a member sees

It all depends on the role, but in every case the member accesses the project **within their own dashboard**, with:

- the canvas and the live status of each service;
- logs and metrics (all roles);
- deployment actions and configuration (depending on role).

Members work **at the same time** on the canvas: visible cursors and changes broadcast live ([Real-time collaboration](/docs/collaboration-temps-reel)).

## Remove a member, change a role

From the same **Members** tab: changing a role is immediate, removing a member cuts off their access instantly. These actions require the `members.manage` permission (owner and admin).

## Billing

The project's resources are billed to the **owner's account** (or to the project's dedicated plan, depending on its [billing mode](/docs/abonnements-projets)). Invited members are never charged.

> **GitHub repositories**: each member only sees *their own* GitHub repositories when creating a service. Access to a shared project never grants access to other members' repositories.
