# Create your first project

A **project** groups the services that make up a single application: the frontend, the API, the database. Each project lives in its own Kubernetes namespace, which isolates its resources and internal network from the other projects in your account.

## Create the project

1. From the dashboard, click **+ New project**.
2. Give it a clear name (e.g. `boutique-en-ligne`).
3. Confirm: the project is ready immediately, still empty.

## Add a first service

Once inside the project, click **+ New service** and choose a source:

- **GitHub**: deploy a repository, see [Deploy from GitHub](/docs/deployer-github).
- **Docker image**: deploy an existing image, see [Deploy a Docker image](/docs/deployer-docker).
- **Database**: provision PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis, see [Databases](/docs/bases-de-donnees).

## Example structure

```text
Project "boutique-en-ligne"
├── frontend     — Next.js, deployed from GitHub
├── api          — Node.js, deployed from GitHub
└── db           — PostgreSQL, managed database
```

## Communication between services

Services within the same project reach each other by name via the cluster's internal DNS, without going through the Internet:

```text
http://api.<namespace>.svc.cluster.local:3000
```

This is the internal URL you should use to connect your `frontend` to your `api`, or your `api` to its database. The public URL is slower and unnecessary for internal traffic.
