# Custom domains

Point a domain you own to your Webgune service, with an SSL certificate generated automatically once DNS is in place.

## 1. Declare the domain in Webgune

In the service's **Domains** tab:

1. Choose **Custom domain**.
2. Enter the full domain (e.g. `app.my-site.com`).
3. Note the **ingress IP** shown on screen.
4. **Add**.

## 2. Configure DNS at your registrar

Create an **A** record pointing to this IP:

| Type | Host | Value | TTL |
|------|------|--------|:---:|
| A | `app` | *(IP shown in the dashboard)* | 300 |

For a root domain (`my-site.com` with no subdomain), use the host `@`, or leave the host field empty depending on your registrar.

## 3. Let DNS propagate

Allow between **5 minutes and 24 hours**. As soon as propagation takes effect, certificate generation starts on its own. Nothing else to do, see [SSL certificates](/docs/certificats-ssl).

## Checking the status

The domain list shows the **DNS OK** and **SSL active** badges once everything is in place. Clicking the badge runs a new check straight away, without waiting for the next automatic cycle.

> **Cloudflare**: disable the proxy (orange cloud → grey cloud) on the A record. As long as traffic goes through the Cloudflare proxy, ZeroSSL's HTTP check cannot reach our servers and the certificate will never be issued.
