# Buying a domain

# Buying a domain

Register your domain names from the dashboard. Availability and price are shown before purchase, and the domain is active as soon as you confirm, with no need to go through an external registrar.

## Search and register

1. **Domains → Register a domain**.
2. Type the desired name: availability is checked live across dozens of extensions.
3. Filter by TLD category (classic, tech, geographic…) or sort by price.
4. Click **Register** on the chosen extension: the domain is billed to your payment method and appears immediately in your list.

## After purchase

The domain is managed from its detail page:

- **DNS**: manage your records ([guide](/docs/dns-enregistrements)); nameservers are configured automatically.
- **Auto-renewal**: you choose whether to enable it. The domain renews before expiration with no action on your part.
- **Connecting to a service**: point the domain (or a subdomain) to any of your services in a few clicks, SSL certificate included ([custom domains](/docs/domaines-personnalises)).

## Pricing and renewal

The price shown during the search is the **first year** price; the renewal rate is shown before checkout. Domains are billed immediately, independent of your platform subscription. Find every invoice in [Payments and invoices](/docs/paiements-factures).
